Community, Preventive Dentistry and Periodontology

Introduction

The Department comprises of two divisions namely;

Periodontology
Community and Preventive Dentistry .

The department focuses primarily on clinical teaching of period ontology and community outreach programs. Our goal is to educate students to perform proficiency in the specialty and be critical thinkers. Our objective is to provide students with understanding of the theoretical basis for and the basic science involved in the maintenance of health and/or treatment of diseases of the periodontium as well as training in all aspects of period ontology and surgical implant dentistry. Through its community outreach programs, the department has led the way in alleviating pain to vulnerable groups in society

To excel Internationally in education of oral health, oral health service promotion and research.

Mission
To contribute to knowledge, provide services and produce oral health professionals with practical and intellectual skills able to provide quality oral health service, create, preserve and disseminate knowledge, and interact with other professions and undertake quality research.
