The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Prosthetics considered one of the biggest departments amongst the other department in the school of dentistry. The department is responsible for the education of undergraduate dental students. The undergraduate programme, involves pre-clinical and clinical courses in Dental materials, Operative dentistry, endodontics Crown and Bridges and Prosthetic dentistry.
In addition to providing tutorials, lectures and seminars, a major emphasis is placed on pre clinical and clinical training. Students are expected to do pre clinical practice on phantom head lab, dental lab and clinical observation. Students are required to have clinical experience in management of simple and advanced restorative/endodontic cases, traditional crown and bridge work and rehabilitation with removable appliances (Complete or partial dentures) Clinical training is provided at the teaching clinic in the school of dentistry Eldoret.
